 Victory Refrigeration (“Victory”) is an example of a company where we provided all of our services. Columbia Equity Partners teamed up with the President of Victory to acquire it via an LBO from its parent company, The Middleby Corporation (Ticker: MIDD). We handled every aspect of the acquisition, including negotiating with the seller, raising all of the equity and debt, and setting up the newly independent company in a tax advantaged way. We personally owned approximately 40% of the equity. |

During the period of ownership, we served on Victory’s board and provided
consulting advisory services on a range of strategic, people, and operational
issues to the company’s senior management team, which enabled Victory
to successfully turn around its financial performance. We handled every
aspect of the successful sale of the company to Aga Foodservice (Ticker:
AGA). Investors earned more than a 13x return on their equity in two and
one-half years.  |
